Developing Parenting Plans for Infants and Toddlers
In the field of family law, one of the most difficult areas in which to advise clients, negotiate with counsel on the other side and/or litigate remains the designing of parenting plans for parents with very young children or infants. Determining the perfect parenting schedule is always a challenge when parents separate or have never lived together but, particularly so, when there are very young children under the age of three. Considerations such as attachment theory, increased legislative and judicial support for joint parenting, children’s developmental responses to parental separation and how these issues interface with one another add to the ongoing debate of whether and when overnight time with infants and young children is appropriate. Join us for a panel discussion where we will discuss and gain insight into this topic.
